X-60 steel drum interior coating is a type of coating made of nontoxic thermoplastic resin through more than one hundred repeated tests, of which, the trial manufacture takes into full consideration, the crimping of the steel drum as well as its high adhesion to the steel material.   
　　X-60 steel drum interior coating is free of any erosion by the bacteria and insect, and can withstand the corrosion from aliphatic hydrocarbon, alkali, diluted acid, gasoline and moisture. According to the observation of the coat soaked in the honey for 24 months, there is no variation to it as well as the color, fragrance and odor of the honey.   
　　According to the analysis of toxicity of resin used to X-60 coating by taking rat and rabbit as objects for test, the LD50 for oral taking as well as subcutaneous injection is respectively 10.0 g /Kg and 7.94 g /Kg. Thus it can be seen that this type of resin is nontoxic. Furthermore, the dry coat made of such resin is up to FDA standard. Other materials used by X-60 coating, such as titanium pigment and alcohol of food grade are also manufactured as per the principle of nontoxicity and edibility. Therefore, X-60 is nontoxic even if it comes into the mouth directly by accident.    
　　Moreover, as X-60 coating takes the edible alcohol as the solvent, it will neither incur environmental pollution nor impose adverse effect on the health of operators. Just imagine: although the epoxy coating used to steel drums for packing food (such as honey) is nontoxic once it is dried, adverse effects of solvents used by it, such as virulent xylene and cyclohedanone on physical health and environment are tremendous.    
　　X-60 coating is in two colors, namely achromatic color and white, which has sound leveling property and adhesion to steel material, and is characterized by its high oil, water, alkali, diluted acid, gasoline and organic solvent resistance. However, X-60 coating may yield to swelling in arene, ketone and pyridine solutions or subject to decomposition in hot alkali and acid solutions.
　　 X-60 coating can be applied by means of brush and spray painting, which can acquire superficial and thorough dryness respectively at the lead time of half an hour and 2 hours at ambient temperature. It is better for coopery plants without roasting conditions to proceed with the bottom closing for the coated steel drums next day; whereas, those coopery plants with favorable baking conditions only need to proceed with roasting for 20 minutes at the temperature below 180℃ to complete the solidifying.
